The 2026 Australia and New Zealand Creator Impact Awards · Creator Christmas
Privacy Policy
What we collect, why we collect it, who sees it, and how to reach us.
This policy covers this website, our nomination form, Creator Christmas expressions of interest and RSVPs, the events themselves, and our creator community. We follow the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, including information privacy principle 3A. For people in Australia, we also follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Section 4 is the Nomination Privacy Notice referred to in our Nomination Entry Terms.
1. Who we are
B.H.S. Limited, trading as SUGRco (NZ company number 1488131), 2a Finch Street, Morningside, Auckland 1022, New Zealand. We run the Creator Impact Awards and the Creator Christmas events, and we are responsible for your information. Hnry presents the Awards and the events; it is our partner, not the organiser. You can reach us through our contact page, or write to the address above, marked “Privacy”.
2. What we collect
| Everyone who fills in a form | Name, email, where you are based, and (if you give it) a mobile or WhatsApp number. |
| Creators | Your handles, the platforms you create on, follower or subscriber numbers, your content category, and what you would like help with in your creator business. |
| Agencies and talent managers | Your agency, your role, and a summary of your roster (how many creators and which categories). We don’t ask for your creators’ personal details here. |
| Brands | Your company, your role, and how your brand works with creators. |
| Nominations | See section 4. |
| At our events | Whether you RSVP’d and attended, and photos and video taken on the night (see section 10). |
| Website and technical | Messages you send through our contact form, your email if you ask to be notified, the link you arrived through (for example a partner’s link), and basic technical data our providers record, such as the time of submission and cookies used to run the site and forms. |
We may also look at your public social media profiles to confirm your audience size and the kind of content you make. We don’t ask for sensitive information such as health, religion or ethnicity, so please don’t include it in free-text answers.
3. How we collect it
- Directly from you, through our forms (built on Typeform), our contact form, email, direct messages and at our events.
- From other people, for example someone who nominates you, your talent manager, or a partner who refers you to us.
- From public sources, such as your public profiles and published coverage of your work.
- Our forms save your answers as you go. If you start a form and don’t finish it, we may still receive the answers you entered. We only use them for the purpose of that form.
4. Nominations (our Nomination Privacy Notice)
What we collect. About nominators: name, email, phone (optional), your connection to the creator, whether you have a commercial relationship with them, whether you want to stay anonymous, how you heard about the Awards, and your marketing preference. About nominated creators: name or creator name, handles, links to public channels and content, country and state or region, an age band, an email address if the nominator has one, and what the nominator writes about the creator’s work. About referees: name, their connection to the creator, and contact details.
Why. To assess, verify and de-duplicate nominations and run brand-safety checks; to build the longlist for the judging panel; to contact creators, nominators and referees about a nomination; to name, celebrate and publicise creators who accept their nomination; to make a shareable nomination slide if the nominator asks for one; and to understand which channels bring in nominations.
If someone else nominated you. We’ll let you know as soon as reasonably practicable, and tell you who we are, why we have your information and who we share it with. You can ask to see it, correct it, or withdraw your nomination and have it deleted. If your nominator asked to stay anonymous, we won’t tell you who they are.
The judging panel sees nominated creators’ details and what nominators wrote. It doesn’t see nominators’ or referees’ contact details.
5. Creator Christmas
When you express interest in, or RSVP to, a Creator Christmas night, we use your information to:
- Assess your expression of interest and select guests. Spaces are limited. Your audience size, platforms, content category and location are among the things we consider. A person makes every selection decision.
- Send your invitation, RSVP details and event information by email, and by WhatsApp if you gave us your number for that.
- Give the venue and our event suppliers the guest list they need on the night (for example, your name at the door).
- Plan the programme, for example the brands and platforms guests would most like to meet.
To help select guests and shape the room, we may share a short guest profile (your name, handle, city, platforms and audience size) with Hnry and with the platform partners helping us curate each night. They may use it only for that purpose.
If you nominate someone in your expression of interest, we treat that as a nomination and section 4 applies.
6. Our creator community
If you tick the box to join, we keep your details in the SUGRco creator community across Australia and New Zealand. We use it to:
- invite you to future events, including Creator Christmas, NZCreatorCon and our Australian creator events
- share education, tools and resources for creators, including our creator education platform
- tell you about brand partnerships and paid opportunities that may suit you.
We never sell your personal information. We will only pass your details to a brand or agency about a specific opportunity after you’ve told us you’re interested in it. You can leave the community at any time.
7. Who sees your information
- The SUGRco team, and contractors who work on the Awards and events under confidentiality (for example, our outreach and social media help).
- The judging panel, for nominations only, as set out in section 4.
- Hnry, our presenting partner. Hnry receives summary reporting (for example, numbers by country and channel) and, for Creator Christmas, the guest profiles described in section 5. It doesn’t receive anything else unless you agree. Hnry does not use your information for its own marketing unless you opt in with Hnry directly.
- Platform partners helping us curate the Creator Christmas guest list, as described in section 5.
- Venues and event suppliers, for the guest list and running the night.
- Service providers that host our tools, including Typeform (forms), Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 (email and files), WordPress.com (this website), Zapier (connecting our tools) and WhatsApp (event messages). They act on our instructions.
- Anyone the law requires us to share information with.
8. Information sent overseas
We are based in New Zealand. If you are in Australia, your information will be sent to and held in New Zealand. Our service providers also store or process information in other countries, including the United States, member states of the European Union, and Australia. We take reasonable steps to make sure anyone outside your country who receives your information protects it in a way comparable to New Zealand and Australian privacy law.
9. Marketing messages
We only send you marketing messages, such as news about the Awards, future events or opportunities, if you have opted in. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can reply STOP to any WhatsApp message. We follow the Spam Act 2003 (Australia) and the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007 (New Zealand). Messages about an event you have RSVP’d to, or a nomination you are part of, are not marketing, and we send them to keep you informed.
10. Photos and filming at our events
Our events are photographed and filmed. We use the footage to celebrate the night and promote the Awards and future events, including on our website and social media, and Hnry may use it to promote the events. If you would rather not be featured, tell our team on the night or contact us afterwards, and we will avoid publishing identifiable images of you where we reasonably can.
11. How long we keep it
- Nominations: until 31 December 2027, then deleted or anonymised. Published material about Impact Nominees and winners stays part of the Awards’ public record.
- Creator Christmas expressions of interest and RSVPs (if you don’t join the community): until 30 June 2027, then deleted or anonymised.
- Creator community: until you leave it. We review the community regularly and remove records that have been inactive for three years.
- Marketing: until you unsubscribe. After that we keep only what we need to make sure we don’t contact you again.
12. Keeping it safe
We keep information in access-controlled accounts with two-factor sign-in where available, and limit access to the people who need it. If a privacy breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify you and the regulator as required under the New Zealand Privacy Act and, where it applies, Australia’s Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
13. Decisions about you
People make our decisions about nominations, the longlist, winners and guest selection. We don’t use computer programs to make decisions that significantly affect you. We use automation for admin tasks only, such as moving form answers into a spreadsheet or preparing a nomination slide that a person then checks.
14. Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw a nomination at any time before a nominee is named on stage. Where it’s practical, you can deal with us under your creator name rather than your legal name. Contact us as in section 1. We will respond within 20 working days.
If you have a complaint, please contact us first so we can try to fix it. If you’re not happy with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner in New Zealand or the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner in Australia.
15. Age
You must be 16 or over to nominate or be nominated. A nominee under 18 needs a parent or guardian’s consent before accepting a nomination. Creator Christmas nights are held at licensed venues and are for guests aged 18 and over. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 16. If we find we have, we will delete it.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The current version is always on this page, and we will tell you about significant changes if you are in our community.
Version 2.0 · 6 October 2026. Replaces the Nomination Privacy Notice, version 1.0 (1 October 2026).
